Recycling Services

Cardboard recycling is available to residents and businesses of Viking with dedicated recycling containers located west of the Shell Service station.

Disposal of paint for recycling is available at the Viking transfer station and the Beaver Municipal Solutions landfill near Ryley.

The Beaver Municipal Solutions landfill accepts tires, salvageable metals, household appliances, batteries and discarded electronic waste for recycling. There is a Freon removal charge of $25 per refrigerator or freezer.

Backyard Composting

Backyard composting is another great way to help the planet and your gardens. Learn how to make valuable compost for your vegetables and plants and help the planet. Composting is important because when things like food scraps and lawn clippings are put in the landfill, methane gas is released into the air. This gas is far more toxic to the environment than carbon dioxide when it's it is important to minimize its effects anyway we can. Click here to learn more.

Beaver Municipal Solutions will be making available backyard composters to residents in the fall of 2012 for a nominal fee, complete with public training sessions in your community. Check back on the website for more details.
