Beaver County Youth Engagement Initiative Project

youthproject2Beaver County Youth Engagement Initiative Project - Rescheduled

Project Description:

Since early in the summer of 2015, the Alberta Center for Sustainable Rural Communities (ACSRC) at the University of Alberta and Beaver County Family and Community Support Services have been conducting a Youth Engagement Initiatives project. The project examines the ways that young people (ages 12-22) view, use and interact with the different resources, programs and assets in their community, and across the county. As part of this project, the ACSRC has conducted Asset Mapping workshops at schools (Gr 7-12) in Beaver County, and we are now moving into the second phase of the project, which is to engage parents, business owners, community leaders and other citizens who interact with youth (teachers, clergy, community group leaders, etc) to discuss and add to the results of the first phase.

Community Involvement:

We are looking for your involvement! If you are the parent of a child or children in Beaver County over the age of 12, or live, volunteer and/work in fields that intersect with youth in Beaver County, please join us for one (or more) workshops to help us better understand the needs, resources and opportunities for youth across Beaver County. Food and beverages will be provided, and a modest travel stipend is available for those living in surrounding areas.

The original meeting date in Viking has been rescheduled.  Please come and participate!
