Viking has a number of active community groups including the Elks, Legion, Lions and many more. Join in to help make living in Viking a rewarding experience.

VIKING AND DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

Meetings of the Agricultural Society are held on the second Thursday of every month. There is a membership fee of $1.00 per year. The main purposes are to manage local recreational facilities and to promote rural lifestyle. The society is a fund raising organization. New members welcome. Contact the above name for information regarding the Fair Board and Rodeo Club.

Facilitated play groups for families with songs, stories, finger plays and crafts. A great opportunity for parents, grandparents, caregivers and providers of young children to meet others, access information and resources, while spending quality time with their children. ELKS (B.P.O.E. CANADA #83)

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 8:00 p.m. The purpose of this organization is a community service. A membership fee applies and members must be 18 years or older.     

IRON CREEK COMMUNITY CENTRE

Iron Creek Community Centre is a family oriented Community Centre located in the old Iron Creek School south west of Viking. Our membership is mostly from the farming community, but we welcome members from anywhere. Every year we have community get togethers which include a Farmers Day Picnic, and a Christmas Party. All of our functions are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate.     

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION (BRANCH #81)

Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. except for June and July. There is a membership fee of $25.00/person. Activities include: Remembrance Day Service and sale of poppies; Remembrance Day poster contest for students; donations from the In-Lieu of Christmas Cards Fund; Legion supper every Friday from which proceeds raised go to help local groups and individuals.  

LIONS CLUB

Meetings are held first and third Thursday of every month at the Legion Hall at 6:30 p.m. There is a         
membership fee of $35.00 per year. They cater to people 18 and over. This is a charitable organization         
and new members are welcome.
