bmslogo 2016 Rural Waste Collection Schedule

Due to the increased number of rural waste customers, Beaver Municipal Solutions' collection staff are finding it increasingly difficult to complete the schedule in one week. For this reason, the collection schedule will be changing in 2016. For the first quarter, the collection dates will be during the following weeks:

  • January 10
  • February 21
  • March 13

In April, the schedule will be changing and rural waste collection customers will be receiving notice of the new schedule. Customers are asked to ensure that gates are left open and the bin is accessible. If your bin was not tipped during one of the above noted weeks, please call our offices the following week.

Upcoming Open Houses

As part of the upcoming strategic planning session, Beaver Municipal Solutions will be looking at the current services and programs as well as potential new ones. In order to better serve the community, we will be working in consultation with the Public Advisory Committee to gather input from County residents and customers.

Some of the topics that will be covered in the Open Houses are the current waste collection service, transfer stations, as well as future programs such as improved recycling or composting as well as funding responsibilities. In addition to the program and service changes, Beaver Municipal Solutions is looking for input as to how these changes should be funded. The information gathered at these Open Houses will be used to determine the direction Beaver Municipal Solutions will take over the next few years.

Several Open Houses have been scheduled throughout the County. The first one will be held in Tofield at the Town's Administration offices in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, February 9. Another Open House is scheduled at the east end of the County in Viking on Thursday, February 18 in the lobby of the Carena. The third Open House will be held in Ryley in the Beaver County offices in the Council Chambers on Monday, February 22. A fourth Open House is booked in Holden on Tuesday, February 23 at the Holden Hall.

All Open Houses will run from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Attendees will be asked to complete a survey/questionnaire.

Those unable to attend the sessions will be given the opportunity to provide feedback through our website.

Are you Interested in a Little Warriors Workshop?

Little WarriorsViking/Beaver FCSS has the opportunity to bring a “Little Warriors: Prevent It!” workshop into the community. The goal of this program is to raise the level of awareness amongst community members regarding child sexual abuse, and to learn how to stop it. The workshop is entirely FREE to anyone interested in attending.

We are reaching out to local organizations listed in the community directory just to gauge the level of interest.

If you think this might be something you or your organization would like to take part in, please contact FCSS as soon as possible, preferably before the end of December.

We have no set date arranged, but plan on hosting it sometime in Winter 2016. The workshop is about 3 hours long, and will be held on a Saturday at our Viking office. We are not currently asking for people to register, but rather ensuring that there is enough interest in the community to warrant bringing out an instructor.

Contact Viking/Beaver FCSS if you have any questions or need more information!
